Surrey Now Safer Than Vancouver

This morning I came across "The News Daily" and the cover story was what is below.  I am copying it from the cover and sharing the information onto you if you have not seen the article:
 
"You are more likely to be a victim of serious crime in Vancouver than you are in Surrey, according to new statistics that are supposed to provide a more accurate picture of criminal activity in Canadian cities.
  The results of the "Crime Severity Index" (CSI) generated from police reports by Statistics Canada represent a reversal from previous surveys that have shown Surrey with a higher crime rate than Vancouver every year since 2001.
   Under the new index, Vancouver has overall CSI of 156, slightly higher than the surrey figure of 153.
   The serious crime rate for Victoria was even higher at 200, about 20 per cent more than Surrey or Vancouver: New Westminster, nanaimo, Courtenay, Prince George, Mission and Terrace were also among the 21 B.C. communities with CSI rates higher than Surrey.
   Williams Lake had the worst serious crime rate index in B.C. at 324, more than double Surrey's.
  Surrey Mayor Dianne Watts hope the results will help to retire the city's unfortunate reputation as a crime hub, something she says is "at least 10 years out of date."
  At 121, the CSI average for all of B.C. is substantially above the Canadian average of 90."

  What a start to 2011
I was referred to the xtreme team by my mortgage broker.
